These activities are offered in 3- hour coaching sessions. Here are some of the things we offer:
British Baking
Learn to bake a delicious cake, a loaf of bread or an amazing dessert under the expert guidance of Tammy Heathfield, a professional baker’s great-granddaughter!
Prepare together in the well-equipped and spacious kitchen. Then sit down and we can share the food we have baked together with good conversation and a lovely pot of tea.

With your host Tammy Heathfield, learn to prepare tasty dishes from the UK and all over the world which are eaten at British dinner tables. Share your culinary creation together with good conversation and appreciation for the cooks!
Creative Writing
Be inspired to write a piece of your own in a way to suit your creative expression. Whether it’s poetry, prose or a short theatre sketch, we will explore different literary sources of inspiration and guide you towards creating a piece of your own.
Guitar and song
Enjoy listening to and joining in with a selection of British songs played live by your host David Heathfield, selected by you from a range of artists such as the Beatles and David Bowie. Create your own song in English using a song that you hear for inspiration!
Bringing Shakespeare alive
Interpret and enact your favourite moments from Shakespeare. Look at extracts of performances from Shakespeare plays together and select your favourites. Focus on one or two of these, interpret the meaning and practise performing an extract, recording your performance to remember your Shakespeare experience.
The Scottish experience
Our lovely Scottish neighbour Marion invites you to experience an afternoon of Scottish food and culture. Born in Edinburgh and an excellent cook, she would love you to spend time in her beautiful home tasting Scottish food, listening to traditional Scottish music and finding out about her country and culture. This option is subject to Marion’s availability.
Enjoyable Excursions
Exeter is a compact city and so easy to explore on foot: Visit the beautiful historic Quayside of Exeter by the River Exe and canal, with its Custom House Visitor Centre. Have lunch together in one of the attractive waterside restaurants.
